Pastor spreads the love

His 14-track album is titled UJesu Uyakuthanda Nawe and the song with the same title happens to be his favourite track in the entire album.

MBOMBELA – The gospel industry in the province is in good shape and the artists are continuing to nourish it. Eleck Sithole is one of the artists who has seen its growth and contributed to it too.

Known to his followers as Elect Mathebula, he has recently released his ninth offering and Mpumalanga News can confirm that it is good food for the soul.

“I have been in the gospel industry for a long time. I am a pastor at the Faith Assemble Church. I have since realised that Jesus loves us all, whether you go to church or not. The Bible makes us understand that we are all loved. I had to spread the message of love out there and I’m happy that this album is well received and already getting airplay,” said Sithole. Acknowledging that his fans might be puzzled by the surname change, Sithole says he found out in 2010 that the surname he has had all along was actually not his.

“It was a difficult journey to travel; it’s almost like being told that you are actually living someone else’s life. But the grace of God carried me through, I don’t know how I would have survived this one if it wasn’t for the relationship I have with God.

“This album is an encouragement for someone, that with God, anything is possible. I have seen him come through for me, I had to learn how to forgive, and the Holy Spirit held my hand through it. Like I said, with God, all things are possible,” he added.
Although he is the pastor of a pentecostal church, Sithole’s music still has that Zion feel and he says he will not lose it anytime soon.

“I grew up in Zion and my music has always had that feel. I’m a very flexible person, but my fans fell in love with that part of me and I will continue dishing it out for them.”
His album is available at all the music stores.
