Be warned for bad weather conditions

MBOMBELA – MEC for Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), Ms Refilwe Mtshweni has cautioned all communities to take precautions during the wet weather conditions this week.
Severe thunderstorms with heavy downpour with hail have been predicted over the central parts of Mpumalanga spreading towards the Highveld.
Mtshweni urged road users to drive carefully as roads will be slippery. She advised communities to avoid crossing overflooded rivers, to avoid standing on an overhanging bank.
“We also urge livestock farmers to move their animals to safe places on higher ground and ensure that children are kept away from flooded streams and rivers during stormy conditions,” she said.
Mtshweni added that all emergency units are on high alert in the province to deal with any potential flooding.
