Mec fulfills her promise on Mandela Day

When this publication visited the school two weeks ago, discovered that some of the classrooms were a disgrace to an extent that the science laboratory could be mistaken for a pig sty.

BARBERTON -MEC for education, Ms Reginah Mhaule fulfilled her promise to the learners of Barberton secondary school by spending her Mandela Day with them renovating some of the classrooms that were not in good condition.


Mhaule’s visit comes after a grade 11 learner, Tsepiso Mobeng requested her to come and check the state of their classrooms.

When this publication visited the school two weeks ago, discovered that some of the classrooms were a disgrace to an extent that the science laboratory could be mistaken for a pig sty. 


This publication also learnt that some of the institutions that graced the event were the executive mayor of Umjindi Local Municipality, Cllr Lazarus Mashaba and offenders from Barberton correctional services (Farm Prison).
