Mpumalanga schools ready to show their talents

Integrated school sport league is an important vehicle for the promotion of social cohesion, transformation and the development of a sense of national identity for our youth.

National and provincial giants in the field of sports attended the historic launch of integrated school sport leagues in Mbombela stadium on Thursday.

The league is aimed at building, locating, developing and nurturing talents in soccer, netball and rugby from grassroots level in all schools across the province.

MEC of education, Ms Reginah Mhaule believes the league will assist in building confidence amongst children, improving their physical and mental fitness which will also improve in the learners academic performance and their wellbeing.

“The integrated school sport league is an important vehicle for the promotion of social cohesion, transformation and the development of a sense of national identity for our youth,” said Mhaule.

Bafana Bafana’s coach, Shakes Mashaba motivated parents to be concerned of the physical well-being of their children.
