MBOMBELA – The special sitting of Amakhosi that was expected to take place today at the legislature has been cancelled.

The provincial house of traditional leaders did not indicate when is the next sitting.
Mpumalanga News learnt that the aim of the sitting was to give Abondabezitha an opportunity to voice out the challenges that they are facing in their areas when it comes to issues of service delivery.

This publication also learnt that some of the delegates that were expected to grace the sitting was the MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), Ms Refiloe Mtshweni.

Early this year the provincial chairperson, Kgoshi Lameck Mokoena told one of our sister publications, Mpumalanga Mirror that some people that are living in areas that are under chiefs and feel left out in terms of getting services and benefiting from government departments.

“Service delivery is still a problem in some of the areas, road conditions are a disgrace as people are still struggling to get clean water,” he said.
