Alleged serial rapist arrested
The woman cried for help and taxi drivers managed to chase and apprehend the suspect. Other rape victims identified him to other rape cases previously reported to the station.
WHITE RIVER – A 30 year old man has been arrested in connection with raping several job seeking women.
The suspect appeared in the White River Magistrate’s Court yesterday on seven charges of rape, three charges of robbery and five charges of theft.
According to an informed source, the suspect was arrested after he lured his latest victim to a bogus job interview behind the railway line in White River.

He apparently forced himself on top of the women while they were walking to the ‘said interview place ‘ behind the taxi rank last week Thursday.
“The woman cried for help and taxi drivers managed to chase and apprehend the suspect. Other rape victims identified him to other rape cases previously reported to the station,” said the source.
Capt Gugu Phiri confirmed the incident.
The suspect was remanded in custody, he will appear again in court on July 4.
