Mayor warns youth against going to taverns

BARBERTON – The executive mayors of Umjindi Local Municipality(ULM), Cllr Lazarus Mashaba has raised a serious concern regarding young people who are gallivanting in local taverns during weekends.
In an exclusive interview with Mpumalanga News Mashaba said: “I am very worried about young people who are seen in taverns and some of them are still at school, now they will be winter schools.

I’d like to appeal to our local business communities, especially those who are owning shebeens or taverns not to invite famous artists because that is where the problem starts.

The youth must focus on their studies as the grade 12 pupils will be starting winter classes.”
