Phola community receives a new police station

Today marks the official handover of Phola Police Station to the community by the minister of police, Mr Nathi Nhleko in the presence of other SAPS heavyweights.

PHOLA- Travelling for over 10 kilometres to report criminal activities to a police station will now be something of the past for the people of Phola in Emalahleni Local Municipality.

This is thanks to the generosity of Eskom Kusile Power Station which spearheaded the project that made the building of a long-awaited police station of over R6,7 million possible.

Today marks the official handover of Phola Police Station to the community by the minister of police, Mr Nathi Nhleko in the presence of other SAPS heavyweights, including the national police commissioner Lt Gen Khomotso Phahlane and Mpumalanga’s provincial commissioner Lt Gen Mondli Zuma and their entourages.

For decades the locals were forced to travel to Ogies to report their cases.
