Incidents of nurses’ negligence

Some even labelled the hospital as a "hell hospital" due to some of the things that they had experienced.

KABOKWENI – Citizens who rely on public health institutions such as clinics and public hospitals are experiencing a nightmare when it comes to receiving services.
Some of the most pressing issues are the bad attitude of nurses and the long queues.
At Themba hospital some patients said it’s not easy to cope with the bad attitude of nurses. Some even labelled the hospital as a “hell hospital” due to some of the things that they had experienced.
Mpumalanga News learnt that some of the shocking incidents that occurred in this hospital includes among others when a 32-year-old woman lost her life after spending 11 hours unattended in the casualty ward.

This had left her family members very traumatised as they had to watch her taking her last breath.
Recently, a local resident was rushed to the hospital after sustaining burn wounds in the hope of him receiving good treatment, but to no avail.
Speaking to Mpumalanga News, one of the family members, who requested to remain anonymous said: “We rushed to Themba hospital hoping that my cousin would get assisted since she was in pain due to the burn wounds. They only gave her pain killers before sending her home.
“They did not bother to treat the wounds. Because we were not happy about the service, we decided to go to KaBokweni Clinic where some of the nurses also indicated that at Themba they were supposed to bandage the wounds at Themba. We were fortunate that they had at least attended to her,” she concluded.
