Red overall gangs terrorise community
Recently a pregnant woman left traumatised after she faced a shock of her life when she was attacked by a group of man who were wearing red overalls .
PIENAAR – Community members of this area are forced to sleep with one eye opened as there are living in fear due to the so called “Red overall gangs” who are allegedly causing a havoc and terrorising the community.
It is allegedly that the gang is formed by a group of ANC members who are against the candidates list of people who will be elected as ward councillors during the forthcoming local government elections that would be held on August 3,2016 .
Recently a pregnant woman left traumatised after she faced a shock of her life when she was attacked by a group of man who were wearing red overalls .
They took her into a pit toilet where they threatened to throw her alive inside the pit which is full of human waste so that she can died with her unborn baby.
Last week Friday residents barricaded road from Shell garage to KaMbebe with burning tyres demonstrating that they are fed up of the gang who are making their lives a living hell.
The residents were calling upon the police to arrest the gang . The spokesperson of the local police station Lt Jabu Ndubane confirmed the incident and stated that victims are scared to open cases.
“We heard about the Red overall gang who are troubling community members.On Friday we attended a scene where community members barricaded road demanding that police must arrest the gang because they are no longer feeling safe.
Then we requested to meet with the leaders of the community members but they told us that they are all leaders.
The people who claimed to be attacked by the Red overall gang they don’t want to open cases ,they told us that they are scared”.she said.
Ndubane added that there are people who are allegedly to be members of the group who were arrested and they are attending a court.
Some of the community members from the ground who did not want to reveal their identity to this publication for safety reasons said it’s about time for premier David Mabuza to put everything aside on his busy schedule and revisited the area and resolve this matter before innocent people lose their lives.
“Recently the gang is attacking innocent people who are not even involve in politic.Those members of the gang are are known in the community as some of them are members of the ANC but there is no one who is brave enough to approach them so that they can stop what they are doing.
If our leaders are acting so reluctant in solving this matter I think there will be a bloodshed towards or during the election day ”he said .
