Political parties done with racism

A pensioner on another was left with a bullet in the head after he was attacked by white people when they were forcefully removing him from his grandfather's farm,".

MBOMBELA – Even though South Africa is celebrating 22 years of democracy, it has been discovered that racism is real and is affecting the country.

According to the provincial chairperson of the EFF, Mr Collen Sedibe, South Africa still has a long way to go in order to do away with racism. “We can’t turn a blind eye to this matter. We have received numerous complaints and some are shocking,” he said.
“An elderly person who was working on a farm is now wheelchair- bound after his white boss allegedly put him behind a tractor and dragged him. He was not even compensated. A pensioner on another was left with a bullet in the head after he was attacked by white people when they were forcefully removing him from his grandfather’s farm,” claimed Sedibe.

“There’s a certain plant where the blacks are working in very bad conditions. They can get sick only to find out that the whites don’t set their foot in that section where the blacks are working because they know it is not heathly,” he also claimed.

The provincial leader of the DA, Mr James Masango said, “We are living in a free country, but there are a few individuals who want to take this country back, but we have to unite regardless of race and discourage such things.

“At this stage, we have not experienced racism within the party in the province,” he said.
The provincial secretary of the ANC, Mr Mandla Ndlovu, said that as a country celebrating 22 years of democracy, unity is what is needed to discourage racism.

He also added that his party will be running campaigns against racism.
“It’s not the majority, but a few who are still promoting or encouraging racism. For an example, here in Mpumalanga we have noted that farm workers’ rights are still violated by their bosses.

As a party, we are not going to fold our hands, we will be running campaigns even to our members.

We are encouraging them to speak out against racism as South Africa is a free country and we must all be treated equally,” he concluded.
