Mashego apologises for delayed salaries

The health department has strongly apologised to 61 of its employees, stationed at Tintswalo Hospital, for not paying them their March salaries on time.

MBOMBELA – The health department has strongly apologised to 61 of its employees, stationed at Tintswalo Hospital, for not paying them their March salaries on time.

According to the department, this was due to a system error.

The employees were supposed to receive on March 15.

The problem emanated from the payment of performance bonuses that were due to the employees in the department.

“The Human Resource department in the hospital, incorrectly captured the payments for performance bonuses that were due to the employees.

After realising the error, the department stopped the payments of the performance bonuses with an intention to rectify the mistake so that the employees can be paid the correct amounts of performance bonuses due to them.

Unfortunately the payment system picked up the initial wrong payment together with the newly correct captured payments,” read a statement from the department.

The nurses will be paid next week March 22.

“The department would like to sincerely apologise to the employees for any inconvenience caused,” the statement further read.
