Strike over councillors brings Pienaar to a standstill

The group of angry people who were visibly drunk and some of them high, violently harassed anyone who took pictures of their protests, including journalists.

PIENAAR – Business was brought to a standstill at Emoyeni Mall this morning. This comes after residents took to the streets to barricade the road as a way of voicing out their grievances about an ANC candidate nomination processes.

The group of angry people who were visibly drunk and some of them high, violently harassed anyone who took pictures of their protests, including journalists.

The main reason for the protest is said to be a councilor candidate whom they feel is imposed to them.

On Sunday afternoon, another group took to the N4 at Kanyamazane and hijacked trucks to close the road, for the same reason.
