Suspects arrested for attempted hijacking
The driver drove straight to one of the suspects but missed him by inches.
BARBERTON –Three men have been arrested for attempted truck hijacking over the weekend.
The suspects allegedly attacked the driver of the truck as it approached a stop between the Barberton and Badplaas road.
Apparently, the driver was attacked by four suspects who jumped off their bakkie carrying firearms and started shooting towards his direction.
The driver drove straight to one of the suspects but missed him by inches.
The driver drove off to the Barberton police station where he reported the matter and police reacted swiftly and managed to arrest the suspects.
The spokesperson of local police, Const Tutu Nkosi said the suspect are due to appear before the Barberton Magistrate Court.
