Rising star plans to celebrate his success

It is often said that some songs are prophetic over our lives and they will surely manifest in one way or the other.

This has proved to be the reality for Sifiso Shongwe, affectionately known as S’fiso S, through lyrics such as “By Fire by Force” and “Izinto Zami Z’yabuya Nam’hla.” The latter has bagged the best song of the year during the Mpumalanga Gospel Awards last December.

S’fiso S recalls the moment he was called out to come and collect his award, and he says he was in disbelief, taking into consideration how tough the competition was.

“I honestly could not believe I had won, but it was a dream come true. It was God fulfilling his promises to me and my work. After 10 years of being in the industry and embarking on street sales, hoping to make it, I have finally received my breakthrough.

“This award has opened a lot of doors for me, a lot of national and international gigs and more recognition. This will help me get the message across, something I’ve always wanted to do. I recently had a shoot with e.tv’s Sunrise, and people will see more of me on national TV,” said S’fiso S.

His album, By Fire by Force, has sold over 30 000 copies on street sales, and it will now be available in music stores, which is more thrilling to the singer.

“This means the wave of change has blown and it feels good. My album will be available in stores as soon as February, exciting news to any artists breaking into the industry,” he added.

S’fiso will host a thanksgiving concert at the KaBokweni International House of Fire. He will host a number of great artists and the entrance is free.

“I want to thank the people who have played a tremendous role to get me where I am today, hence I don’t want my fans to pay. They just have to be there to help me celebrate what the Lord has done for me. I will perform alongside artists such as Pretty Mhlongo and Sidwell Mathebula, to mention but a few. I will also give away grocery packs to needy families. We will all celebrate, and I can’t wait to host my special guests, the fans.”

The thanksgiving concert will take place on March 5. Everyone is welcome.
