Two businesses robbed in the early hours of the morning

Three unknown armed men approached the victims and forcefully took a crate that was containing the cash at gunpoint.

Nelspruit – Police are pleading for assistance with information that can lead to the arrest of suspects responsible for two robberies which occurred in separate incident on Tuesday morning at Middelburg and Belfast, respectively.

According to police information the first incident happened in Middelburg at about 02:55. It is alleged that seven men went into a drive-through of KFC and pointed a cashier with a firearm. The cashier managed to escape and two of the suspects jumped inside the shop through the window leaving the other suspects on guard. They stole an undisclosed amount of cash. They fled the scene in a blue vehicle.

The second incident occurred at about 09:15 in Belfast. Two employees of a retail shop were also robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash while on their way to the bank. “Three unknown armed men approached them and forcefully took a crate that was containing the money from the victims at gunpoint. The suspects then fled the scene on foot,” explained Sgt Gerald Sedibe.

In all these incidents no arrest has been made yet and any person with information may contact Lieutenant Colonel David Seimela at 072 320 3247 with the Middelburg robbery and Detective Constable Kamella Sello at 078 536 2484 for Belfast.
