Second gospel awards lauded

MBOMBELA – Lucky Gamede and Sebenzile as the best male and female artists of the year during the 2nd Annual Gospel Music Awards held on Saturday.
This also saw the popular Donny being crowned as the best selling artist in the province.

Legendary gospel outfit, Masibuyele kuJehovah received a Lifetime Achievement Award, while Rev Micah Nthali and Mr Johan Sibiya received Honorary Awards.

Tina Zungu received the Best National Artist of the Year.Also honoured for a Lifetime Achievement Award the legendary was Derrick Nzimande.
Pastor Anderson Matsane was crowned for Best Classic of all times, Simphiwe Malaza for Best Contemporary, Best Newcomer is Moses Mahlalela, Best Amazion are Imbano Apostolic, Best Clap is Children of Joy, Best Traditional Gospel art is none other than Jay Jay.

The Best Acapella is Amadodana Asembalenhle, Best Amazion Instrument is Eleck Sithole.

New child on the block, the Voice Of the Community (VOC) were crowned as the best community radio station while the Best Song Composer is Mxolisi Mbethe.
Fikile Mlomo was a surprise act to perform at the prestigious ceremony which was well attended by gospel music enthusiasts who came in full support of the gospel stars.

The ceremony also gave a fair chance to presenters from all community radio stations including Ligwalagwala FM and Ikwekwezi FM. The program me wssvtight and professionally organized.
Although it commenced than the scheduled 18.00 because of the late arrival of guests, when it started, it presented the most joyful and unforgettable evening.

Word of caution to locals though: learn to be punctual when attending events because next time, you will find it half way through or over and done with, then claim: we wuz robbed.
