Ehlanzeni Ancyl to host congress

The Ehlanzeni Regional Congress is scheduled to start today and finishes tomorrow.

MBOMBELA – The Ehlanzeni African National Congress Youth League (Ancyl) will hold its regional congress, at which a new leadership will be elected.

The provincial task team coordinator, Mr Vusi Mkhatshwa, announced during a media briefing about two weeks ago that it was ready to help rebuild the youth league regional and provincial structures.

Judging from last weekend’s Bohlabela regional congress the members are eager to build a stronger and united Ancyl.

“We are happy with the manner they have carried themselves and we are also impressed with unity and cohesion we have seen so far.

“This congress proves that there is now unity and members are now sharing the same vision and all have one common objective,” he said.

The Ehlanzeni Regional Congress is scheduled to start today and finishes tomorrow.

Asked whether it was ready for the event, the regional task-team coordinator, Mr Desmond Moela said after months of restructuring, the branches could safely say that the youth league was alive and well and ready for the congress.

“I am confident that not just only this region is ready, but can safely say that all the others in the province are ready to rebuild youth league structures and eventually establish a provincial structure that will work to promote unity within and help the ANC win the elections,” he concluded.
