BUSHBUCKRIDGE – The community of Kumane Trust is reeling from shock following an incident where a man set himself on fire after stabbing his wife and mother-in-law last week.
According to a close family member, the man had recently paid R 30 000 for lobola and thereafter, the wife told him that she wanted out.
The reliable source then added that the man went to the house,
with a container filled with petrol, to demand his money back and when his wife and mother in law refused to pay it back, he stabbed them.
They then fled the house with stab wounds and he poured himself with petrol and burnt to death.
The two women were rushed to the hospital where they were treated for the wounds.
Local police confirmed the incident adding that investigations were underway.
