Local team secure a second place

"The competition was very tough, but we did our best. I am happy with my boys,"

The Nelspruit Taekwando Club shone again during the Taekwando International South Africa Championship that was recently held in Pretoria.

The aim of the championship was to select a national team to represent South Africa in the 11th Taekwando International World Championship that is expected to be held in July 2016 at Birghningham, England.

This publication learnt that people from this province who participated came from different areas such as Barberton, Bushbuckridge and Mbombela.

The Nelspruit Taekwando Club performed very well as they managed to end in second position followed by Pretoria and the first position was obtained by the Free State.

The instructor of the team, Job Magugala said he was very happy with the performance of his team.

“The competition was very tough, but we did our best. I am happy with my boys,” he explained.

The world president of Taekwando Grand Master Oliver a ninth-degree black belt of Taekwando was pleased with the performance of the Nelspruit club and is looking forward to see the club at Birghinham.

Magagula concluded by saying, “I strongly believe that we will do wonders next year, even though it will not be easy.”
