Mpumalanga comes alive with music this September

The weekend will kick off with a pre-party at Cappuccinos I'langa Mall on Friday September 18, which will be hosted in conjunction with rock 'n roll events.

September marks that time of the year when the city of Mbombela plays homage to the province’s biggest event, the annual Mpumalanga Comes Alive Festival.

This year, it not only brings you good music and entertainment, but also a lot of changes as it attracts all ethnicities from across the country, young and old.

According to the co-founder of MPUCA, Thabo Sekele, #MpumalangaComesAlive in conjunction with Zigna Performing Arts will offer art, music, film workshops.

The activities offer an opportunity for aspiring artists in Mpumalanga an important mechanism through which to stay in touch with the evolving techniques and trends of the broader music industry.

These activities have already been hosted in eMalahleni (Nkangala), Gert Sibande and Ehlanzeni regions.

“We thought it was high time that the brand stood on its own as we have ambitions to grow it to greater heights as a product of Mpumalanga,” Sekele said.

The event seeks to promote tourism and celebrate the rich cultural diversity in the province and for the past six years, Mbombela has seen great numbers of people from the nine provinces and neighbouring countries to take part in the festivities.

The Mpumalanga Comes Alive Festival will be free of charge to the masses.

“It’s sure going to be an unforgettable Mpumalanga weekend and we urge all South Africans to set it aside and book their tickets, flights and accommodation as this is going to be a memorable festival of excellent music,” Sekele continued.

The province will come alive from September 18 to 20 when the celebrations will bring partygoers and tourists to venues such as Cappuccinos I’langa Mall, Peponi Lodge on the N4 and Mbombela Stadium.
