Commission close women’s month in style

" There’s a need to get close and person with those women and educate them further about customary marriage "

MBOMBELA – Women from different corners of the province gathered at the Provincial Disaster Centre in the CBD and close the women’s month by voice out their challenges and empowering each other.

This comes after the Commission for Gender Equality(CGE) hosted a women seminar aimed to discussed about marriage issues.

Speaking with Mpumalanga News the national chairperson of CGE Mr Mfanozelwe Shozi said the commission decided to host the seminar in this province after they have received numerous challenges or problems from women who are involved in customary marriage. 

“According to the complaints that we received from married women ,we have discovered that Mpumalanga is leading so we felt that there’s a need to get close and person with those women and educate them further about customary marriage because there’s a problem people don’t understand how it works”.

Shozi said it’s very important to teach about this type of a marriage because women are there are the ones who find themselves being abused and end up being homeless when they lose their husband.
