Health care to be taken to Taxi ranks

The Department of Health will be launching a taxi rank health care themed 'Operation Phakamelimpilo- improving accessibility to PHC health care services', at Mbombela, on friday.

MBOMBELA- After noticing that taxi rank communities are struggling with health care services, the Department of health will be launching a taxi rank health care services this coming Friday at Mbombela taxi rank- Plaza.

According to the spokes person of the department of health, Dumsani Malamule, the department’s major aim of launching this program is to ensure that taxi rank communities are afforded access to Primary Health Care(PHC) services at least once a month.

“This was after realizing that in these areas there are taxi drivers and hawkers who are providing services on continuous basis. Additionally, commuters who are always commuting from one point to the other without and/or limited access to health care services,”said Malamule. This enhances the need for taxi rank healthcare services. The event will start from 9:30.
