SANCO condemns ANC divisions

The South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO) in Mpumalanga has strongly condemned actions of a group of “ANC members” who staged a march against the ANC.

MBOMBELA – The South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO) in Mpumalanga has strongly condemned actions of a group of “ANC members” who staged a march against the ANC.

The group of disgruntled ANC members marched to the ANC provincial offices hoping to hand over a list of their grievances but left unattended. In a statement sent earlier today, SANCO called for unity and tolerant within their alliance partners.

“SANCO views the actions of this group as highly divisive and a quest that undermines the unity of the ANC in the Province.

It has always been our position not to interfere with the internal processes of our alliance partners. However, we strongly feel that the ANC must guard against these unprecedented foreign tendencies, since they may likely spread to other alliance components if they are not halted and withered.

SANCO strongly urges the leadership cohort that is behind the steering of confusion to repent from their anarchist tendencies, and accept the leadership collective that was elected by branches of the ANC.

Otherwise they must use internal processes and democratic elected structures to raise their concerns,” read part of SANCO’s statement.

The statement continued, “SANCO understands that over and above the disruptive tendencies associated with anarchists are because they refuse to be led and reject authority. And we see this as nothing else but disgruntled group of individuals who refuse to be led.

SANCO further wants to use this opportunity to distance its leaders,
in particular the Provincial Secretary and Provincial Chairperson, Cde Mike Soko and Cde J.J Skosana, from any factional lists that are being developed and circulated with an aim of causing confusion and plaguing divisions.

As SANCO Mpumalanga we have categorically indicated that we are satisfied with the leadership collective of the ANC led by Cde David D Mabuza, and that goes with the leadership of the SACP and COSATU.”
