Elders must be respected

Elders cried tears of joy after noticing that they are the most important individuals since many people decided to spend quality time with elders this Mandela Day

LEKAZI – “I would like to urge everyone to take good care of elders since they no longer can perform some tasks themselves.

We as African Methodist Episcopal church (AME) will continue to embrace and promote the legacy of Madiba,” said Past Luke Dhlamini.
AME, Shirda trading and Pick n Pay spoiled elders in this community by donating food parcels and blankets in honour of South African hero, Nelson Mandela on Mandela Day.

Elders cried tears of joy after noticing that they are the most important individuals since many people decided to spend quality time with elders this Mandela Day. “This day motivated us in so many ways, we thank God for giving us this special day.

Today I will go home with food and a blanket, if it was not Mandela Day, we would not be this happy today,” said Gogo Gcinile Bhanda.
The presence of Dr Bongile Baloyi was an answer to elders as many confusions regarding health problems were discussed.

Dr Baloyi opened a question and answer session where attendees were given a chance to ask questions on various health issues. “I
feel as if my mind has been opened because I did not understand some illness I came across in my body and after Dr Baloyi explained, I will be able to teach other people about what we were taught today.”

Dr Baloyi urged elders to exercise often since it will help them to stay healthy and to fight diseases such as sugar diabetes and high blood pressure. Elders felt so happy when she revealed that they would build a hospital for elders so that they could have access right on their doorstep.
