It will be a weekend full of nothing but praise and worship for Lowvelders when gospel songstress, Mahalia Buchanan, serenades them with beautiful and harmonious gospel sounds.

Known to many for her roots in the internationally renowned gospel group, Joyous Celebration, Mahalia will be doing this show as a build-up towards her live recording to take place in June.

“We are so excited about this event, we just want the people to know what’s in store when it comes to the album and what they should expect. It will be her first performance in the province, and they say the first impression goes a long way.

I am so confident that this show will be an amazing one,” said the organiser, Doctor Makhubela. Makhubela, who is also the CEO of Dlophe Records, a company which Mahalia is signed to, says this is only the beginning and he has massive plans for the gospel industry, especially in the province.

“Mahalia’s live recording will be done in the Soweto Theatre in Johannesburg. This is only because we couldn’t really find a bigger place in Mbombela. We have huge plans for the gospel industry here at home.

We have worked with great gospel artists during the Gospel Goes Classical show, and we will be bringing all the experts to the province to nourish the talent here,” he added.

Makhubela has urged Mahalia’s fans to keep tabs on her latest work and assured them that they would not be disappointed.

“Her latest single, New Dimension, is now available. I encourage people to download the single from iTunes to get a taste of what awaits them at the show at Emnotweni,” he concluded. The show is planned for May 9 at the Emnotweni Arena.
