How would you best describe you reign?

My reign was amazing. I was living my dreams and every experience I’ve had has moulded me into a better young lady.

What particular projects were you engaged in?

I was involved in a number of projects which were all very close to my heart: Zazi Campaign for girls from the ages of 14 to 18 which aims to stop the spread of HIV.

I launched the Caring for Girls campaign ogether with the Department of Education through which we distributed sanitary towls and I was also a proud ambassador for the Mpumalanga Gambling Board, where I was advocating the dangers of gambling among young people.

How would you describe the role you played

The role I played during my reign was that of carrying yourself as a young woman, having direction and going for your dreams.

What has your title as Miss Mpumalanga done to effect change in you personally, and the community as a whole?

Being Miss Mpumalanga hasn’t changed me but has made me a better lady, friend and sister. The way I see life has widened as I strongly believe that the sky is truly the limit. I come from a community that has celebrated my success and through that many young people have been motivated to do and be more.

Would you recommend the beauty pageant as a grooming experience for young women? If so, why?

I would gladly do so, there is such a great transformation of a girl from the time you are announced as a finalist to the time you are announce the winner. Besides the fabulous prizes you get, you also get to mingle with the province’s most influential people who will also direct your paths and assist where possible.

In 2013 you were the queen, how has your life evolved since then. Describe in detail.

Oh wow, I can still remember the day I was crowned to the day I handed over my title.

My life has improved through being funded to further my education which is something I was interested in.

I’m glad to share I will be graduating on the April 2 and I’m currently doing my honours degree in education where I’m majoring in curriculum issues which is where my passion lies, through the bursary I was awarded.

It is the fifth anniversary of this beauty pageant and what special message do you have?

It’s the fifth anniversary of Miss Mpumalanga and I would like to thank its management for the opportunity of a lifetime of empowering us and the teachings that will forever live on.

I wish you many more years and the ability to touch the lives of young ladies residing in this beautiful province. My responsibility is raising the brand through my own endeavours.
