Another Hazyview lodge attacked

Four criminals wearing balaclavas held two guests at gunpoint at about 02:00 this morning, robbing them of an i-Phone, i-Pad, jewellery and cash

HAZYVIEW – Yet another lodge was hit by robbers – this time Timamoon Lodge.

Four criminals wearing balaclavas held two guests at gunpoint at about 02:00 this morning, robbing them of an i-Phone, i-Pad, jewellery and cash.

The victims were tied up on the bed before being locked in their chalet. The gang then fled the scene in the direction of Bushbuckridge. The couple eventually managed to free themselves and called for help on the emergency radio.

Hi-Tech Security, who responded to the incident, is still in pursuit of the gang.  According to officials the criminals have made their escape through the plantation farms and the present rainy conditions are making it extremely difficult to track them.

When the security team initially arrived on the crime scene they immediately contacted the various police stations for back-up.  However, none of the phones at White River and Hazyview police stations were reportedly working.  The same allegedly applied for the Flying squad.

Eventually the reaction team got hold of a Col Herbst at Lydenburg SAPS and Lt Col MP Makamu, station commander of Hazyview.
