Surprises galore at crowning event

The stage for the fifth edition of Crowning Miss Mpumalanga is set and all eyes will be glued on the 12 finalists who will lighten up the stage with their beauty and stunning outfits.

The stage for the fifth edition of Crowning Miss Mpumalanga is set and all eyes will be glued on the 12 finalists who will lighten up the stage with their beauty and stunning outfits.

Billed for April 11 at the Emnotweni Arena, this year’s episode of the pageant, which has taken the whole province by storm, is set to be absolutely spectacular and different from the previous four offerings.

Focusing mainly on the models and their outfits, from the swimwear to the evening gowns, the show’s wardrobe manager, Ncobile Nyarenda, said this year’s theme will be totally different.

“I don’t want to give away the secret, but I can promise you that the dresses are simply stunning. You have to come and see for yourself, but I promise you will not be disappointed,” said Nyarenda who has served as both stylist and wardrobe manager for the show since its inception in 2011.

“You know, when we started, we were limited because of lack of sponsors, but we have grown over the years and I must say that our wardrobe department has also improved a great deal.

I am certain that people will not be disappointed with the outfits and the theme we have chosen this year,” continued Nyarenda steering away from the theme for this year.

She said it would celebrate the five editions of the show. The casual wear and swim suits are sponsored by GALX Boy and the dresses by NQ Boutique.

Word from the organisers is that tickets for the show are selling fast and have already been sold out in some areas.

On the night, the girls will be ushered in by Afro-soul award-winning sensation, Afrotraction, who will share the stage with hip-hop heavyweight, KO and SA Idols runner-up, Bongi Silinda.
