People urged to support grade 12 learners

This gathering is not only about prayer, we are going to talk about education with parents

HAZYVIEW – “It’s that time of the year again where as citizens of this country, we have to unite and support our grade 12 learners as they will be starting to write their final exams. Let’s give them the support that they need because they are our future leaders,“ said the Minister of Basic Education, Ms Angie Motshekga during the Imbizo prayer for the learners that was held at Mthimba FET College.

In the first part of the gathering, Motshekga accompanied by the MEC of education, Ms Regina Mhaule, visited exam centres to check the state of security. ”I have visited different exams centres to check the state of security as we know that next week, grade 12 learners will start writing their final examinations. This gathering is not only about prayer, we are going to talk about education with parents,“ she explained.

She also applauded Mhaule for playing a significant role by making a huge impact by improving matric results.”Since she took over in the department, she is making a huge difference when it comes to matric results.“

Mhaule urged learners not to lose focus and also emphased to parents that they must not stop praying for their children because now they are going through a tough time. “It’s important to put our children in prayer because sometimes they might be disturbed by evil spirits. “Bangaze babhale izinyokanyoka “ let’s give them enough time to study and talk positive things because we are ready,” she said.
