Numbi road claims yet another life

MASOYI – One person was killed in an accident that involved three vehicles on the R538 main road on Sunday.

Mpumalanga News learnt that it’s alleged that a Citi Golf was travelling from Mahushu towards Hazyview at high speed. It is also alleged that the driver lost control and the car hit a tree.

An ambulance was called to the scene to assist seven passengers who sustained injuries. It has been reported that while the paramedics were busy assisting the injured people, another Citi Golf hit the ambulance and one person who was about to be boarded onto the ambulance, died.

Speaking to this publication, the spokesperson of the local police station Const Nanikie Nonyane confirmed the incident.

”Around 01.30 we attended a car accident scene that involved three vehicles. While we were still busy, one person died on the spot after another car that was travelling at high speed towards Hazyview, hit an ambulance .We’d like to warn motorists to respect road signs and not to exceed the speed limit, especially in this area because it’s a high accident zone,“ said Nonyane.

She stated that a case of culpable homicide has been opened.
