Ehlanzeni teams now look the part
The initiative of the department was applauded by the coaches as they told the paper that they were struggling to raise funds for sport kits.'
Local teams of the Ehlanzeni region ,especially those from disadvantaged communities, will no longer have to ask for donations from community members to buy sports attire.
This comes after coaches from different sporting codes descend on the Barberton Town Hall in numbers on Saturday to receive sport kits from the Department of Culture, Sports and Recreation. The handover is part and parcel of developing sport from grass-roots level and also to take it to another level in terms of shaping talent of youngsters at an early age .
This publication learnt that some of the sporting clubs that received attires included boxing,handball,hockey,swimming, basketball,volleyball, tennis,netball,cricket and gymnastics.
