Suspect arrest could lead to more arrests

A 32-year-old man identified as Caswell Ngomane, has been arrested for house robbery, murder, and rape, in Nkomazi yesterday.

TONGA – A 32-year-old man identified as Caswell Ngomane, has been arrested for house robbery, murder, and rape, in Nkomazi yesterday.

According to the police, they were investigating a case of house robbery at KaMhlushwa and the investigations led to them uncovering the rest of the offences.

“Upon questioning Caswell, we uncovered that he is linked to the rape and murder cases reported from Masibekela Trust.

In the case, the deceased was shot in front of his girlfriend who was raped by the suspect. Caswell led the police to where the other items are, which he sold to a 60-year-old man from Mbuzini, Albert Shekwa, including a plasma Television and laptops,” said Lieutenant Mzwandile Nyambi of Tonga Police.

The suspect is said to have told the police that the fire-arm he used is with his girlfriend at Block C Trust.

“The girlfriend is also arrested on possession of that fire-arm, pistol Z88, with seven rounds which Caswell used commit house robbery cases. Caswell has appeared in Court and remained in custody until February 11, 2015.

We believe more arrests will made as he has mentioned other people he has worked with in committing the hideous crimes,” added Nyambi.
The police have issued a stern warning against buying stolen goods from thugs.
