Woman arrested for possession of dagga

VERULUM – A woman in her early 20’s has been arrested for possession of dagga at Sicobile section under Umjindi Local Municipality.

This publication learnt that the arrest comes after four members of K9 in White River received a tip-off from a community member about a woman who had dagga in her possession.

The tip-off yielded positive results as when police searched her house, found dagga weighing 589 grams with an estimated street value of R1 130 00.

The woman was arrested on the spot and charged with possession of dagga.

The spokesperson of the Barberton local police station, Const Tutu Nkosi, confirmed the incident.

”It’s true that we have arrested a young woman after we discovered dagga in her house. She is expected to appear in the local magistrate court very soon,“ said Nkosi.
