MEC pleads support for the class of 2014

The education department has put up a support system that will provide counselling for learners who will experience difficulties with Tuesday's outcome.

MBOMBELA – With only a day left for the class of 2014 to know their fate, the department of education has requested parents to accompany their children to schools on Tuesday January 6 from 08:00 to collect their Grade 12 statements of results.

According to the department this will provide an opportunity for the schools to explain the content of the statement and for clarity seeking questions to be responded to by the schools.

MEC for the department,Ms Reginah Mhaule has pleaded with parents to support their children and not put unnecessary pressure to them during this period.

“Should a parent observe unfamiliar behaviour from his/her child during this time,we request that they contact the department at 0800 203 116 during office hours to be linked with the officials who will provide counselling from the Inclusive Education Directorate,” Mhaule added.

She further requested pastors to pray for children,parents,educators and for the leadership of the entire department.

The announcement of results will be broadcast live from Ikwekwezi and Ligwalagwala radio stations including 10 community radio stations from 9:05 on Tuesday.
