The late former ANCYL Chairperson will be buried this Saturday

The late former ANC provincial chairperson of the ANC youth league, Kgotso Motloung will be laid to rest on Saturday with a service commencing at 08.00 at the Sakhile Stadium and will depart for the cemetery at 13.00.

STANDERTON – The late former ANC provincial chairperson of the ANC youth league, Kgotso Motloung will be laid to rest on Saturday with a service commencing at 08.00 at the Sakhile Stadium and will depart for the cemetery at 13.00.

According to the ANC Gert Sibande spokesperson, Sibusiso Radebe, “On behalf of the organization and our regional chairperson, Vusi Shongwe, we are saddened in losing this young firebrand and a true revolutionary in the tragic car accident.

Motloung was born 2 October 1978 and attended his primary school at Thandeka primary then later went to Make higher primary before matriculating Jandrell secondary school. During his high school days he was an exchange student and spent some time in Sweden.

“In 2007 he worked for the department of roads and transport as a road safety officer. During his school days, as a member of Cosas, he became the president of the SRC at Jandrell secondary school. He joined the youth league and he was placed in a leadership position at branch level  at the age of 18.

Maturing politically, he was elected the first chairperson of the league in 2008, of which he was both a PEC and PWC member. It was in 2011 where he was elected the provincial chairperson of the league.

“Back in 2000 he was deployed as the youngest councilor in the Lekwa local municipality, later becoming an MMC in the Gert Sibande District Municipality late in 2008 and was duly the district mayor in 211. At the time of his untimely death,  he was a district council lot.

“The tragic accident robbed his family of him after a 10-year marriage to his lovely wife, Lindiwe, three children, two sisters, two nieces and his father. The spear that was fighting the triple challenges has fallen. We send sincere condolences to the Motloung family, comrades and friends.
