MEC Kholwane to deliver closing budget statement

MEC Sikhumbuzo Kholwane will deliver the closing statement on the Provincial Adjustment Budget at the Legislature on Friday, 28 November 2014.
The sitting of the legislature for the second and third reading of the Adjustment Appropriation is a last in the stages of approval processes for the provincial budget that was tabled last week.
The MEC announced, last week, that additional R598.421 million will be added to the provincial budget, thus adjusting the expenditure framework to R37.068 billion for the year ended 31 March 2015.
The adjustment budget for 2014/15 provides resources for the repairs of storm-damaged infrastructure that happened during 2013/14 and 2014/15 financial years; social relief programmes; infrastructure upgrades, construction of sewer and water treatment works, amongst others.
