Christians shocked by Myles Munroe’s death

"This has been a very sad year for the Family of God so far, first the collapse of the church and now Myles, a man of faith had to depart in this sad manner,"

MBOMBELA – The Christian fraternity has expressed shock after news of Dr Myles Muroe, his wife and his daughter’s death after a plane crash circulated this morning.

According to reports, the international preacher was travelling with his family in a small plane when it crashed on approach to the island of Grand Bahama, killing nine people who were on board.

This morning social networks were abuzz with messages of condolences.

“This has been a very sad year for the Family of God so far, first the collapse of the church and now Myles, a man of faith had to depart in this sad manner,” Past Sizakele Mkhonto said.

“Saddened to hear Dr Munroe is no longer with us. An influential man who changed many. We celebrate his contribution. May his soul rest in peace. We shall meet in heaven,” said Nyiko Shiviti.

However, some Christians say that they will never be shaken but hold fast their faith regardless of the misfortunes that are happening around believers.

“Indeed it has been a rough year and I believe that the sad things happening are aimed at discouraging us somehow.

We are sad but not shaken. God remains our strong tower,” said a local pastor, Prophet Aubrey Masuku.
