Education’s MEC satisfied with exams

In addition the department has established a team that will render psychological guidance and support for learners and their parents should there be a need.

The Mpumalanga Department of Education is satisfied with the way in which the examinations have started yesterday.
There were no challenges that were reported throughout the province.
The Department takes this time to express its appreciation to all who made it possible for the smooth running of this important examination.

“The Department is hopeful that the same trend will unfold until the last day of the examination. In this regard, the Department continue to make a clarion call to all communities and parents to support their children and ensure that there is nothing that diverts their attention from their studies,” said Ms Reginah Mhaule, the MEC for the department.

Adding that the department has established a team that will render psychological guidance and support for learners and their parents should there be a need.

She urged parents to contact the department if there may observe any of the following unusual signs and symptoms from their children behaviour:
Non-participation in routine activities, irritability (short-tempered/ aggressiveness),negative thoughts,physical pains (headache, back pain, aching muscles, stomach pains),sleeping disorder (short-lived sleep or oversleep) eating disorder (loss of appetite or can’t stop eating).talking about killing or harming oneself, acting recklessly, calling or visiting people to say goodbye,belittling oneself and switching from unhappiness to happiness (with a short space of time).

The results of the 2014 grade 12 examination will be announced on 06 January 2015.
