ELUKWATINI – In a rare case of its kind, a 30-year-old man apparently sneaked from his girlfriend’s room to rape his mentally challenged mother-in-law.
This happened over the weekend where it is alleged that the suspect who had paid a visit at his girlfriend’s place, apparently left his girlfriend in the middle of the night and sneaked to rape his 40-year-old future mother-in-law in her bedroom.
“When his girlfriend woke up and didn’t find him next to her, she jumped out of bed in search of him. She was terrified when she turned the lights on in her mother’s bedroom, where she caught her boyfriend red-handed in the act,” explained the local police spoksperson, Const Peace Mbokane.
He briefly appeared before the Eerstehoek Magistrate’s court on Monday.
The station’s commander, Col Baby Masango commended the police for the swift arrest and pleaded with members of the community to take care of the elderly and to ensure that they are protected and safe from abuse.
“The elders were there when the youth cut their teeth, likewise, the youth must be there when the elders lose theirs,” she said.
