MBOMBELA – The police are looking for two suspects that are still at large after cutting private parts of a 41-year-old man on Monday morning at Kameelrivier near Siyabuswa.

It is alleged that the victim was coming from a tavern with his friend at around 02:00 when four men approached them. They then grabbed him and said that they want his private parts.

“Whilst they were in the process of cutting him, he screamed for help and the notorious thugs ran away leaving him bleeding heavily. He was rescued by someone who took him to Kameelrivier Clinic where he was later transferred to Philadelphia Hospital in Dennilton,” said Brigadier Selvy Mohlala.

According to the Police, the victim managed to identify one of his attackers on the way. The police were informed and arrested the first suspect (36) that morning.

It is also alleged that in the afternoon, the community mobilised themselves, apprehended the second suspect (30), assaulted him severely and also cut off his private parts. He was then admitted to Mmametlhake Hospital and is under police guard.

“The first suspect is appearing today before the Mdutjana Magistrate’s Court in Siyabuswa facing a charge of attempted murder. We urge any person with information that could lead to the arrest of the remaining suspects to contact Siyabuswa Police Station at (013) 973 1301/1942,” he added.
