The Scholarship offers access to a tailored entrepreneurial and personal development programme for learners who demonstrate the potential to excel academically, display entrepreneurial talents and leadership traits.

“In order to fulfil the Foundation’s core purpose of developing a community of young, responsible future entrepreneurs, the Scholarship is awarded to learners who have the desire to engage fully in opportunities provided to them.

This opportunity includes a comprehensive financial support system,” said Cherna’ Misrole of Allan Gray Orbis Foundation.

According to Misrole, the Scholarship opportunity’s applications close the 12th September 2014, where grade 6 learners who successfully completed the application phase will be interviewed and the most deserving candidates will be invited to attend one of the Foundation’s selection camps, which is the final stage of the selection process.

After the selection camp Allan Gray Scholars offers are made to enter high school in grade 8 during 2016.

“The Foundation aims to promote progress by developing high-impact responsible entrepreneurs. The Scholarship is one of two avenues through which they identify and nurture future entrepreneurs who can make a valuable difference to the societal fabric of South Africa,” she added.
