Residents fed up with empty promises

Early this morning residents of Daantjie village took to the streets complaining about the delays regarding pavements on their dusty streets by the Mbombela Municipality.

PIENAAR – Early this morning residents of Daantjie village took to the streets complaining about the delays regarding pavements on their dusty streets by the Mbombela Municipality.

The angry protestors blocked the main road with burning tyres and stones saying that they are fed up with empty promises by the municipality.

“They think we re not informed but we know that an eight million rands tender was awarded to a company to start paving and they were supposed to start in June but there’s no sign of any project here,” said one of the community members,Mr Vusi Nkosi.

  1. Atleast they have tared roads in their locations, here in Bushbuckridge in a village called Xanthia we are still wating for the tare road that was promised to our forfathers. Its a shame to all those people who are given tender but fail to deliver. If u want to know about this village let me know i can even provide you with pictures.

In Graskop is the same crap, they gave out RDP’s but without electricity, we all are struggling and its winter, and please can somebody tel me what’s happening with the Chinese houses, because crooks are starting to steal the doors and the geysers, why arn’t they selling or start giving people those houses? Molt is starting to grow on the roofs, while people need houses.
