The two, Mr Shaun Mabuza (34) and Mr Neliso Nkabinde (30)briefly appeared at Kanyamazane police station where they were charged with fraud.

According to W/O Andries Skwambane, the case was then transferred to the Nelspruit police station, where investigations still continue.

The arrest of the two comes after they, together with others in their white Nissan bakkie, loaded with two empty drums of 200 litres containers and other three empty 20 litres containers and attempted to fraud fill them with petrol and diesel.

They allegedly told petrol attendants that they will pay using a debit card which was, however, suspected to have been stolen somewhere.

Suspiciously, garage employees immediately pressed a panic button and three of the suspects fled in their vehicle, leaving two of them and the fuel behind.
