Suspect arrested for business robbery

Criminals are giving business people a sleepless night

BARBERTON – A 28-year-old man has been arrested for business robbery and he is expected to appear briefly at the local magistrate court.

Mr Dutamo Ya was at his brother’s shop,Moola’s café when he was approached by two men. They started to beat him up, forced him to lie down then they search him and took his cell phones and an amount of R500 from his pocket.

The suspect went further and took R1 500 from the till, cigarettes worth R2 000 and airtime vouchers worth R1 500 and they run away. Police are still investigating as it’s believe that there will be more arrests as one of the suspects is still at large.

Mpumalanga News learnt that since this year started, criminals are giving business people sleepless nights. This incident is not the first one to occur, some of the shops that were robbed include Pappa’s, Debonair’s restaurant and Furnmate furniture shop.
