Prepare for yet another great Mother’s Day at the Botanical Garden

You can look forward to lots of entertainment, food and fun on May 11 at the Lowveld National Botanical Garden.

If you’re wondering how to spoil mom on May 11, look no further than the annual Sappi/Lowvelder Mother’s Day Concert.

Grab your camping chairs, blankets and cooler bags and head to the Lowveld National Botanical Garden. Gates open at 09:00 so you’ll have plenty of time to get comfortable before the show starts.

Chris Hobkirk of Reptile Recovery will start off the entertainment at 12:15 with a show and discuss reptiles and snakes. The audience will be able to see some of the creepy crawlies up close and learn more about them.

The formal programme will start at 12:45 with the introduction of the entertainers and their musical instruments. Sing along as Nianell performs some of her greatest hits like “Who painted the moon” and “I hold the sun”, listen to the gorgeous voices of Forté and watch as Thean Kotzé shows how a guitar is really played.

To keep the kids out of trouble, take them to the kiddies’ corner where there will be loads of free activities.

For the perpetually hungry, there will be many stalls with food and beverages and wine stands. A well-known cellar will hold a wine tasting and will have a fully stocked beverage bar on site.

Don’t worry about having to walk far to get to the venue, there will be park-and-ride facilities.

Tickets are on sale at Mica Hardware in Nelspruit, the Lowveld National Botanical Garden’s gate and Meat Delights German Butchery at the Riverside Junction.

All women and preschoolers enter free of charge. Prices are R20 for pensioners and primary schoolchildren and R60 for adults and all other visitors.
