Alexandra-born twins, popularly known as Revolution, will complement the mood of the day with their instrumental music of popular original rhythms. They will be supported by DJ Clock and Gino Brown.

Ligwalagwala FM has had its feathers ruffled by listeners many times, but instead of perishing it has simply grown more feathers and flown higher and higher. The radio station is celebrating 32 years of broadcasting success at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday with a bumper music concert that is bound to leave you asking for more.

Despite being an authentic siSwati radio station, Ligwalagwala FM has crossed the boundaries cutting across tribal lines to attracting a wider listenership from other ethnic groups nationally and in neighbouring countries.

In what is a mark of the station’s success over the past 32 years, its afternoon drive-show host, DJ Shabba has been announced the undisputed winner of the “Best afternoon drive show” during the MTN radio awards, beating well-known commercial radio stations in the same category.

If that is not enough reason to celebrate, a powerful line-up of entertainers worthy of the radio station’s stature in the broadcasting industry at national level will fire up the party spirit on Saturday night.

Multi Sama award-winning hip-hop artist, AKA will take the lead and really set the ball rolling for an unforgettable night with the stars at the stadium. So you better not leave behind your dancing shoes, as you’ll be dancing on the blazing dance floor to endless good music.

Talking about dancing shoes…

Dr Malinga will be in the house to showcase the high-kicking dance style that has been a popular feature of his performances all over. Ligwalagwala FM listeners will have the experience of being with him live at Mbombela Stadium. Who knows, maybe you will get tips from him on improving your styles of dancing.

Durbanites, Big Nuz, who have frequented our shores many a times, will bring the roof down on the day as they take along their dance-crazy fans through their repertoire that has kept revellers on their feet whenever they’ve landed here.

Alexandra-born twins, popularly known as Revolution, will complement the mood of the day with their instrumental music of popular original rhythms. They will be supported by DJ Clock and Gino Brown.

Spiritual entertainment will be led by award-winning gospel artist, Sfiso Ncwane whose popular hit, “Kulungile Baba” will reign as one of the worthy hits to be belted out at the do.

Local talent will be represented by deejaying stalwarts, DJ Shabba and DJ Madumane spinning the discs. There will also be The Prince and Afro Tell Us. Hosts for the day will be a variety of personalities including SABC1’s Ses’khona former presenter, Mpumi Mbethe.

The event is jointly put together by Ziyaphenduka Productions and Mbombela Local Municipality. Don’t miss out on this big spectacle to take place in the Lowveld. Tickets sell at R50 and VIP tickets at R250 each.
