Victory tastes sweet

Daniye primary school will represent the country in the 2014 Milo African Champions Tournament to be held in Kenya, against other national champions from African countries.

Daniye Primary School’s soccer teams continue to fly the Mpumalanga flag high.

Locals, learners, teachers and parents are thrilled about the school’s victory in the Nestlé Milo u/13 tournament which comes barely a week after the school’s u/12s jetted off to represented the country in the Danone Nations Cup World final in London. The u/13s were given a sum of R150 000 to invest in an initiative that was aligned with Nestlé Milo’s values of nutrition, health and wellness.

The cash will also enable the school to improve its sporting facilities as well as buy sporting equipment.

They will represent the country in the 2014 Milo African Champions Tournament to be held in Kenya, against other national champions from African countries.

This comes after outplaying Guquza Primary School of the Eastern Cape in the finals held at Matlosana Stadium in the North-West Province.

According to Nestlé South Africa marketing manager, Kelly Wainwright, the 2013 finalists showed improved team work, skills and talent.

“The mental strength and determi-nation that they put into the matches was phenomenal to witness and we at Nestlé South Africa are proud in the knowledge that we were able to instil within them, the value of education and how the power of positive thinking and living a healthy lifestyle can help one accomplish great things in life,” says Wainwright.

Nestlé South Africa in partnership with the South African School’s Football Association (Sasfa) has been positively changing and enhancing the mental and physical health of the country’s youth through the platform of football for the past six years.

“Congratulations to Daniye Primary School for their achieve-ment, we are proud of them and believe wholeheartedly that they will make South Africa proud in Kenya next year as they take on the Milo African Champions Tournament,” says Mandla “Shoes” Mazibuko, president of Sasfa.
