New category to excite churches

The organisers have included a new catergory to be called the 'Best Community Church Outreach'.

Organisers of the annual Crown Gospel Awards have introduced a new category that will get the churches excited about their work and the event itself.

The organisers have included a new catergory to be called the ‘Best Community Church Outreach’.

Part of the statement issued by the event organisers read, “The church has long been doing excellent job in extending its hand outside the church premises, to the destitute and the broken. World Gospel Powerhouse (WGPH) aims to salute and honor those who have heeded the call to uplift and make a difference where it matters.”

“For some church members have long served in the church while their bellies were empty or their families were deprived. The new exciting category is to get the churches involved. After introducing the category of community service and artists, more are encouraged to do much for their communities. We have noted that there are churches that are going an extra mile helping their communities and the needy – (which is what they are called to do anyway).”

Zanele Mbokazi, who is the WGPH president and founder added that the category will encourage and enable churches that are doing well to nominate themselves by submiting their pictures or recordings of what they have done.

“Last year Gospel artists who were crowned for their community outreach included Israel Mosehla, True Faith Gospel Choir, Lebo Sekgobela, Tshwane Gospel Choir and Isethembiso,” she concluded.

Nominations are still open until September 20, 2013. Forms are available on the website.

Tickets will soon be available at Computicket outlets.
