Pienaar rapper drops new music project

Smash Shadow released an EP titled Pieces of my Heart, which he hopes hip-hop listeners will love.

Songwriter and rapper Siphosethu Thabethe (26), known as Smash Shadow, is set to drop new music in an EP titled Pieces of my Heart on October 20.

Thabethe said this project is a compilation of 12 songs to give listeners a taste of his hip-hop music.

“I am not ready yet to release an official album, so until I am, I made the decision to compile my songs for listeners. I opened up at lot in the songs on the EP, which makes it my best work so far in my music career.”

Thabethe, from Etinkomeni in Pienaar, said he started making music in 2014 and was inspired by the late hip-hop star, Riky Rick.

“My friends and I used to listen to his music together and mimic him. My career started off with a single titled ‘Dancing’, which is a happy and groovy song. My biggest song to be recognised in the local hip-hop industry is ‘Baby Dad’ released in 2020. I received recognition for this song as people showed love for it on streaming platforms.”
